Planning an event with a tent can have a tendency to be daunting. With a variety of different styles and sizes, it can be difficult to determine which tent rental is the best for you and your event. Understanding more about your different options and factors that you need to consider can help ease the process.
What Should I Consider When Renting a Tent
When looking into renting a tent, there are several factors about your event that you will need to consider when choosing the best tent option. You will want to make sure that the tent not only fits the aesthetic of the event, but also the purpose for which the tent is needed. Simultaneously, you want to make sure that the tent style will be large enough to accommodate your guests, while also fitting in the space that is available. The length of time that you will need the tent is also important to look at, from the set-up to the strike down of the event. If you can, you also want to keep the weather conditions of the area and time of year in mind.
What Style of Tents does TLC Have Available
Pop-Up Tent
Pop-Up tents are ready for use as soon as they are opened, as they do not require the frame to be built prior to use. With the ability of a quick installation, Pop-Ups are often used for one-day events, such as fairs, festivals, and trade shows. This style is built for short-term rentals of 1 to 4 days and areas with little to no wind.
- Only available in 10’x10’
High Peak Tent
High Peak tents use tension from cables to create the peaks seen throughout the length of the tent, without the use of a center pole. This allows for a classic tent appearance, but with more usable space available underneath the tent. While this tent does have a quick set-up process, it does require a frame to be built prior, unlike Pop-Up Tent. This style is built for short-term rentals of 2 to 7 days and areas with little to no wind.
- Available Widths: 10ft – 20 ft (10ft increments)
- Available Lengths: 10ft, 20ft, 30ft, 40ft, 60ft
- Also available in 15’x15’
Pole Tent
Pole Tents are a traditional style of tent that is held up by center and side poles, which are secured by ropes to either stakes or anchors in the ground. This is the only style of tent that cannot be anchored by concrete blocks. This style of tent often requires more space than most styles in the same size due to the additional square footage needed for the perimeter created by ropes. Something to keep in mind for Pole Tents is that the center poles will take up a portion of interior space and the layout underneath tent will need to keep these in mind. This style is built for short-term rentals of 2 to 7 days and areas with little to no wind.
- Available Widths: 60ft
- Available Lengths: 30ft, 60ft, 90ft, 120ft, 150ft (30ft increments)
Frame Tent
Frame Tents are a freestanding style that do not require any center poles due to framework of tent being the main support, rather than the tension from cables. This style also has one long peak that spans the length of the tent, rather than multiple peaks. Due to the increased sturdiness of the way the tent is manufactured, Frame tents can also support items up to 25lbs from the beams. The durability of the tent makes it capable of being used for longer rental periods spanning from 7 to 14 days. Also, it is the preferable style for areas with low to moderate wind speeds.

Structure Tent
Structure Tents are engineered with the use of a sturdy metal frame to create an “A-Frame” shape with one long peak following length of the tent. Their design was made with longevity and durability in mind, making it the recommended style for larger events or extended rentals that can span from 2 weeks to several months long. Also, the beams in this tent can support items up to 100lbs. They are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and strong wind areas.
